Coming soon to iPhone

Wake up and actually stay up.

First Light is an alarm that won't stop until you've done one good thing. Twenty push-ups, a walk, ten minutes of quiet, a page of your journal. Then it stops, and the day is yours.

One week free, then £5.99 a month or £39.99 a year. iPhone, iOS 26.

What it is

An alarm with a job to do.

Every other alarm has one button, and it's snooze. First Light replaces it with a mission: something small and real that you agree to the night before. Until it's done, the alarm keeps coming back.

The Today screen showing a streak, tomorrow's alarm and your level

No snooze button

Stop only quiets it for ninety seconds. It comes back five more times across ten minutes, and it doesn't care how you feel about that.

One mission, sized by you

Push-ups, a walk, meditation, reading, prayer, a page of your journal. Set the length low enough to clear on a bad morning, and raise it when you're ready.

Proof, not promises

Movement is watched by the camera, steps are counted by the phone, and timed missions begin with a photo of the thing you're about to do. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.

How it works

Three screens, one morning.

Set it the night before. Prove you're up. Log the win. The alarm re-arms itself for tomorrow.

1

Pick a mission the night before

Set the time, choose what tomorrow will ask of you, and say how long. Thirty seconds of push-ups counts. So does five minutes of quiet.

2

Prove you're up

Timed missions start with a photo of the thing you're about to do, then a timer you can't skip. Movement missions watch you through the camera instead.

Cards expire. Alarms shouldn't. If a payment ever fails, any alarm you've already set keeps ringing for 48 hours while you sort it out.

Questions

The things people ask.

Does it work in Silent mode and through Focus?

Yes. First Light uses Apple's own alarm system, the same one the Clock app uses, so it rings through Silent mode and Focus at your ringtone volume.

What if I genuinely can't do the mission one morning?

Movement missions hand over to a plain timer if the camera can't see you, and every timed mission has a floor of a couple of minutes. The point is to get you upright and doing something, not to punish you. Set the length to whatever you'll actually do on your worst morning. How the movement missions work.

Is it filming me?

No. During push-ups and squats the camera looks for movement, and each frame is reduced to a coarse brightness grid and discarded in memory. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere. You can see the live view on screen so you know what it can see. Privacy policy.

Can I have more than one alarm?

As many as your week needs, each with its own days, its own mission and its own sound. A weekday push-ups alarm and a weekend walk, for instance. The walk mission counts the steps.

What happens when the free week ends?

Your subscription starts at the price you chose, and you can cancel any time before then in Settings on your iPhone. Nothing is charged during the trial.

Android?

Not yet. First Light is built on iOS 26's alarm system, which is what makes it reliable. If we do Android, it will be when we can make the same promise there.
